Hike & learn about sustainable forest management

  • Grunewald Tower 61 Havelchaussee Berlin, BE, 14193 Germany (map)

About the event
Happy Pigeons Lab goes on a hike in the Berlin forest called “Grunewald”. The hike is actually an outside exhibition that gives many insights about (sustainable) forests. On top, our happy pigeon Julia, who is an absolute expert in forests, will give us some explanations about sustainable forest management & wood production and how to provide quality assurance for wood products originating from sustainable forests.

About Julia
”I am a change agent, contributing to a more sustainable and climate-change-adapted world. I believe that communicating scientific findings to decision-makers and the community needs to empower people and create a better understanding for their opportunities. I have done empirical studies in the forest and in cities, always connected to the adaptation to climate change. Most recently, I was involved in a circular-economy-start-up, changing the mindset of people to replace their one-time-buy with renting the products instead. I have worked in different countries and forms of institutions. My activities ranged from organizing data to working closely with the community and bringing the reality of people's lives into a scientific context, figuring out the best possible practice in order to improve our livelihoods and connection to nature. My main interest is to better understand nature and the world that we are living in and to share this knowledge and make it accessible to everyone.”
